The Maidstone recce has provided us with a good insight into the sort of exterior locations and shots that we can use when filming outside.
The Courthourt in Maidstone, as well the river and park provides us with a good variety of locations which we can use, and will hopefully give the video the sub-urban feel that the audience research suggested the video needed.
The pictures taken in Maidstone, perhaps because they were taken on a sunny day, give a very warm feel to the images. We need to decide if this warm feel is the type of colouring we want for our music video.
As I have little knowledge of Maidstone, the reece definitely gave me a good insight into how good it is as a location for filming.
I particulalry like the sub urban feel that the area has and the pictures show some great cinematic spots that we could easily use for our video.
As for the "warm" colour from the sunny autumn day, I don't personally believe we should film in that type of weather. Ideally, I would prefer a more overcast day (hopefully without rain) as it would link more closely with the conforming, mundane everyday life.
As a reccie, I found that going into Maidstone to have a look around was highly beneficial to me, as it allowed me to map out certain shots and helped me to visualise certain ideas.
In terms of the photos taken, the warm colouration is simply due to the fact that I use a warmer colour setting on my camera because it provides more definition for pictures in bright daylight. Therefore colours should not be a problem when we come round to using the video cameras, whether it's sunny or otherwise.
